In Minnesota – It’s Duck Duck Grey Duck

I remember as a child playing Duck Duck Grey Duck.  Imagine my surprise later in life when I left Minnesota to attend school and learned that the rest of North America plays Duck Duck Goose.  While I would never equate the preservation of DDGD to that of an endangered or lost language – I do believe it should be cherished.  Unlike it’s DDG cousin – DDGD has a more imaginative element because every duck has an adjective – blue duck, red duck, green duck, grey duck.  While I’m confident both version can continue to play nice – there’s something a bit special knowing that I grew up in a land where it’s Grey Duck and not Goose – unless you’re ordering a vodka when you can choose to drink a Grey Goose.
