New Year’s Day Traditions

Rice, Beans & Greens. Minneapolis, Minnesota. January 1, 2017: Photo by Christopher Pollard

As a Minnesotan with southern roots, New Year’s Day to me means rice, beans and greens. I was raised on the stuff thanks to my Grandma Pollard, an 89 year old Georgia native.

I wasn’t able to make it back home to enjoy my family’s annual feast. Fortunately, I know a guy who whips up a scrumptious bowl of tradition.

Thanks Kirk & Liz.

Make the New Year Yours

Best wishes to you and yours for an outstanding & healthy 2017.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
― T.S. Eliot

Go forth and kick some ass, take names, get shit done, try something new, be passionate and make this New Year yours – peacefully and with class of course.
